About this qualification
Here is what the Certificate II in Access Technology qualification offered by Caboolture State High School covers and who it is designed for.
General Education outcomes: Creating a nationally accredited certificate course recognises an industry gap in preparing people who have no or low vision with the skills required to be successful in employment. The course provides a pathway for low or no vision individuals who use, or are preparing to use, assistive technology skills to complete workspace activities. Whilst there are other VET courses that prepare people for employment, this course incorporates the blind specific expanded core curriculum skills, to provide people who are blind or vision impaired, with the knowledge and skills to help them learn what their sighted peers gain incidentally. This need is reflected in the current low employment rate for people who are blind or have low vision.
