Certificate IV in Fire Systems Compliance

This course is designed to develop competencies to allow Fire Protection workers to be able to certify fire protection systems. It will provide participants with a range of knowledge and skills to complete the following activities * a visual inspection of a fire protection system Detection of any altered, damaged, or compromised aspects within the system * identification of the fire protection system’s compliance with Australian and international standards, Building Code of Australia requirements and manufacturer’s specifications * the provision of advice or completion of a report, including a certificate States the compliance or non-compliance of fire protection systems.

In January 2025, the National VET Regulator amended the course title to remove the term, “(insert stream)” to align to national data reporting requirements. The course structure was not amended. The streams of specialisation remain unchanged in the course structure. The completed stream is to be identified on testamurs below the qualification code and title as per the requirements of the AQF.
