About this qualification
The Certificate III in Montessori Early Childhood Education is designed to provide an Assistant Directress with a range of knowledge and skills to perform their role within a Montessori early childhood education and care setting. Assistant Directresses usually work under the direction and mentoring of their Lead Directress to implement and guide children in purposeful learning activities, as well as supporting and nurturing children’s development in accordance with the Montessori approach. The units of competency encompass the knowledge required to implement the theory embedded within the Montessori approach, as well as the application of the method, curriculum and the Montessori didactic materials in the classroom. Assistant Directresses work with children from the ages of 0
6 years, within Montessori settings which may include long day care centres, family day care, kindergartens and playgroups. Assistant Directresses utilize the principles and practices of the Montessori method.
