11098NAT
About this qualification
This course is an entry-level course for Indigenous translators working between their own language/s and English.
The course imports three units from ‘10890NAT Certificate II in Learning an Australian First Nation's Language’ focussing on own language identification, sourcing available resources and applying accurate pronunciation and spelling to own language. The other five core units focus on punctuation, principles of meaning-based, natural and accurate translations and translating short texts, including some difficult words to and from own language and English.
There is also a focus on preparing to work in a translation environment, balancing the various responsibilities to community, employer and the set text.
