Certificate IV in Teaching English to Young Learners (TESOL)

This course is designed to produce teachers of English as a Second Language (ESL), English as a Foreign Language (EFL) or English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D), specialising in teaching young learners. It will provide participants with a range of knowledge and skills to perform a variety of functions associated with teaching English to a diverse group of young learners who are not native speakers of English. Graduates will develop skills in classroom management, lesson planning and resource development, together with skills and knowledge to assist young learners to improve grammar, pronunciation, reading, writing, speaking and listening ability.

They will also develop knowledge and understanding of cultural issues likely to be encountered in the ESL classroom, as well as knowledge of regulations applicable to young learners.
