Here is what the Course in Skills to Access Learning Pathways qualification offered by TAFE Queensland covers and who it is designed for.
The Course in Skills to Access Learning Pathways is specifically designed to meet the needs of the English as an additional language (EAL) client cohort who need to build a learning pathway. It meets the needs of pre-literate and pre-numerate learners at ACSF Pre-Level 1 Stages A and B with extremely limited communication and/or numeracy skills and no or negligible exposure to formal learning environments.
Learners at this level are only beginning to demonstrate an extremely limited awareness of themselves as learners and have non-existent or extremely limited learning strategies and prior knowledge. Consequently, they require highly structured, support, modelling and repetition of learning. Unit outcomes in this course describe the most basic communication and numeracy skills needed to allow ongoing development within a learning context.
