About this qualification
The Diploma of Montessori Early Childhood Education is designed to provide Montessori Directresses with the range of skills and knowledge to perform a lead role within a Montessori Early Childhood Education and care setting. Graduates will use their specialised understanding of the Montessori pedagogical method to observe, analyse and apply their knowledge and skills to a range of work situations within the early years, whilst supporting and nurturing children’s development in accordance with the Montessori approach. The units of competency encompass the knowledge required to implement the theory embedded within the Montessori approach, as well as the application of the method, curriculum and the Montessori didactic materials in the classroom.
Montessori Directresses work with children in the first plane of development, from 0 to 6 years of age, within Montessori settings which may include long day care centres, family day care, kindergartens and playgrounds.
