Course in Mental Health Recovery Work

This course provides the skills and capability needed to provide psychosocial disability support to people living with psychosocial disability/mental illness. It assists the worker to apply person-focused recovery principles in their work, and to operate effectively in a work environment from day one of their employment.

Work is undertaken in people’s homes, centre-based and out in the community, and can be offered one to one or in a group setting. Work is carried out autonomously under the guidance of other practitioners and professionals.

To achieve this course, the candidate must complete 20 hours of work placement.
