Certificate II in Engagement-based Safety

The course is designed to build inclusive engagement and provide learners with a suite of transferrable skills applicable to educational, workplace and community contexts. These include self-evaluation, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, self-regulation, and basic plain language skills.

The course highlights the negative impact of disengagement on safety (both psychosocial and physical). The course takes a systemised approach, based on action-research principles, to improve safety, efficiency, and productivity by building workplace engagement.

This course applies to people preparing to work in a supervised team context. It can include students, job seekers, those preparing to re-enter the workforce, and members of the community.
