    Under the Act, firearms licence applicants must have successfully completed an approved and accredited firearms safety course. This course provides firearms licence applicants: • who are deemed to be a “Fit and Proper Person” within the meaning of the Act And • with genuine reasons for possessing a firearm under the Act;

    with the knowledge and skills to possess and use firearms lawfully, responsibly and safely, thus making them eligible to apply for a Tasmanian firearms licence, in one or more of the following categories of firearms • Category A • Category B • Category C • Category D • Category H
