About this qualification

This course is designed to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge to recognise and respond to asbestos risk in the Waste and Recycling Industry. It equips participants with the ability to identify asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), implement safe handling and disposal procedures, and comply with relevant workplace and environmental regulations. Graduates will be able to: • Identify asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in waste streams and recycling processes. • Apply safe handling, containment, and disposal practices to minimise asbestos exposure risks. • Follow workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures for asbestos risk management. • Conduct visual inspections of waste loads to detect potential asbestos contamination. • Report and document asbestos-related hazards in accordance with workplace and regulatory requirements.
