About this qualification

The Advanced Diploma of Building Biology is a nationally accredited qualification that provides graduates with the skills and knowledge to investigate, assess, mitigate and design strategies to manage hazards in the built environment with the aim of creating healthy indoor environments. Graduates will be able to: • Identify, test and make recommendations to assess water-damaged buildings for moisture and mould • Inspect, measure and make recommendations to mitigate manmade electromagnetic fields • Assess and make recommendations to mitigate exposures to allergens, toxicants and noxious gases • Assess drinking water and provide advice on appropriate filtration systems • Develop evidence-based strategies to solve complex scenarios taking into consideration susceptible populations.

The course integrates scientific, technical, and practical knowledge to prepare graduates for professional practice as Building Biologists. This qualification is recognised by the Australasian Society of Building Biologists (ASBB) as the professional benchmark for practitioners in the field.

This course supersedes and is equivalent to 10913NAT Advanced Diploma of Building Biology.
