About this qualification

11464NAT Certificate IV in Indigenous Cultural Capability provides learners with the skills and knowledge to work effectively and respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations. The course focuses on developing practical capability to research, design and implement culturally appropriate strategies for engagement, service delivery and procurement.

Learners apply legislative and policy frameworks relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and use research and consultation to inform culturally appropriate approaches. The course supports individuals working in government, non-government and project-based roles where engagement, service delivery or procurement involving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is required. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates will

• apply cultural capability principles in workplace practices • communicate and engage effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities • research and apply information to support culturally appropriate strategies • design and implement engagement and service delivery approaches • apply relevant legislative and policy requirements • contribute to culturally appropriate procurement and service practices • work collaboratively with stakeholders to support effective outcomes • reflect on and improve their own cultural capability.
