About this qualification

This course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge required to safely handle and relocate reptiles and venomous snakes, in Australia. Most state and territory authorities require snake handlers and spotter catchers to complete a relevant course as part of their application for a wildlife relocation permit.

Successful graduates of the course will be able to apply for a wildlife relocation permit and work as a snake handler or spotter catcher in a range of settings including * wildlife parks * animal control within local government and private snake relocation companies * mining and construction sites for snake and reptile relocation work * wildlife care agencies such as Wildlife Victoria, WHOMP (Wildlife help on the Mornington Peninsula) and WIRES (Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation).

22652VIC Course in Reptile and Venomous Snake Handling supersedes and is equivalent to 22500VIC Course in Reptile and Venomous Snake Handling.
