About this qualification
The course provides learners with industry specific skills and knowledge to upskill and/or work in the non-regulated early childhood education sector. A non-regulated early learning service is any service that caters for children aged from birth to five years of age, that is not under the Education and Care Services National Regulations, such as Playgroups and Child and Parent Centres. The course is intended to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to perform the following tasks:
* Support the development of children’s learning and development;
* Record and implement appropriate opportunities for learning and development;
* Create a safe and healthy learning environment;
* Reflect on the learning and development program;
* Engage caregivers and families to participate in the program;
* Respectfully collaborate with caregivers and families;
* Identify appropriate referral pathways; and
* Access and understand the organisation’s policies, procedures and guidelines.
