About this qualification

Here is what the Advanced Diploma of Engineering - on campus qualification offered by TAFE Queensland covers and who it is designed for.

Redefine your engineering career with this high-level course and develop the specialised skills and knowledge required to become a mechanical engineering technician or associate. In this course students will gain detailed drafting and design skills, and learn how to oversee the installation and maintenance of machinery. Students will also develop knowledge of engineering processes and principles, project management, quality systems, and team building. TAFE Queensland's supportive, industry experienced teachers will give students all the support needed for success.

Combined diploma/degrees: The Advanced Diploma of Engineering can be combined with other programs as listed below to attain the awards of Advanced Diploma of Engineering from TAFE Queensland and the relevant degree from the university. Students undertake initial study at TAFE Queensland and complete the degree at the relevant university. Duration, location, mode of study, semester intake, electives and specialisations may vary. All mandatory university admission and English language requirements must be met before university enrolment is finalised. For more information contact the relevant university. Note: TAFE Queensland students making transition to the degree may need to wait six months to start with the semester one university intake.

To apply for a combined advanced diploma/degree, applicants must select the Advanced Diploma of Engineering for the relevant TAFE Queensland location on their application and nominate their preferred degree/university (one only). Applicants can list the stand alone advanced diploma or the combined program but not both. Listing more than one is not needed because they have the same eligibility and ATAR/rank requirements.
