Develop a comprehensive understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of computing technologies Prepare yourself for a career in a computing-related field with our Bachelor of Computer Science pathway to Honours. You will gain the practical experience required to design efficient, reliable software that meets industry standards and also learn about the hardware on which software runs. This degree is accredited by the Australian Computer Society at the professional level and is recognised internationally under the Seoul Accord. Students completing this degree will have the opportunity to undertake a one year honours degree in the fourth year.
The Bachelor of Computer Science pathway to Honours has been designed to provide students with a strong foundation in both the theoretical and the practical aspects of computer science and an ability to critically analyse and evaluate information and solve problems. It provides awareness of social, economic, cultural, and environmental aspects of computer science in preparation for future roles as a computer scientist.
The Honours year has been designed to provide graduates with a reinforcement of the theoretical and the practical aspects of computer science and a strong ability to critically analyse and evaluate information and solve problems. Upon completion, students will be able to apply research skills appropriate to postgraduate research or advanced industrial investigation.
