The Bachelor of Creative Arts (Costume Design) prepares students to produce creative work to a high standard using conceptual, practical and technical skills and to be able to evaluate high-level knowledge of the processes involved in the production of creative work in both themselves and others. This VET pathway degree is specifically designed for applicants who have completed either the VET Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology, Advanced Diploma of Fashion and Textiles Merchandising or Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising. Applicants with an Advanced Diploma qualification in a related area are also encouraged to apply for this pathway.

This degree develops in students an understanding of the costume and creative industries through historical developments, social and cultural applications The function of formal and aesthetic properties in various forms. It equips students with high-level skills to communicate and negotiate with theatre directors, technical production staff, clients, performers and other industry professionals To undertake collaborative teamwork throughout the design and production process.
