About this qualification
Telecommunications engineering deals with large-scale data networks, such as the internet and other devices and systems that represent, store and transmit analog and digital information. This includes data transmission, equipment, customer access technology, analog and digital radio and television systems, satellite communications, global navigation, mobile communications and remote sensing/telemetry systems.
In the first year of study you will learn about engineering and its various fields. The common first year provides you with sound fundamentals in mathematics, statistics, physics, computing, engineering science and communication, mechanics, and materials. You then focus on your chosen major study from second year.
Your degree also includes 12-weeks hands-on industry experience, either in Australia or overseas, as well as a range of industry projects and other career-ready learning opportunities.
