About this qualification

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Machine Learning) produces IT professionals ready to innovate and develop the next generation of machine learning and artificial intelligence based applications. As a graduate of this degree, you will be able to develop sophisticated solutions to complex problems using machine learning techniques and tools. It is accredited by the Australian Computer Society at the professional level and is recognised internationally under the Seoul Accord. Graduates meet the academic requirements for attaining chartered status as ICT professionals.

Students will work with partners to design machine learning applications that can be deployed across a wide variety of industries, studying a broad range of both information technology and machine learning topics. They will have the opportunity to engage with multi-disciplinary teams from across the University in the design and construction of knowledge-based AI-driven systems, gaining insight into the current trends in knowledge engineering and its uses.

City Campus

Flinders City Campus offers a broad range of study areas and is designed for collaborative learning, interactive teaching and industry engagement. Positioned adjacent to the Adelaide Railway Station on North Terrace and central to trams and buses, the City Campus provides students with greater connection, convenience and accessibility.

Practical experience

This degree provides students with the opportunity to gain first-hand industry experience with a 12-week industry placement preparing them for the workforce and giving them the opportunity to build industry connections and develop practical skills, ensuring they are career ready.

On completion of this degree graduates will be able to develop sophisticated solutions to complex problems using machine learning techniques and tools. The course provides education in both the theoretical and the practical aspects of information technology and intelligent systems preparing graduates for a variety of roles.
