Here is what the Bachelor of Mathematics Advanced qualification offered by University of Newcastle covers and who it is designed for.

The Bachelor of Mathematics Advanced is available to students who have achieved outstanding results at the highest level of mathematics in high school or have the equivalent level of knowledge on entry to UOW.  

Students may choose to complete a major in applied statistics.

The flexible structure of the degree allows you to design a study program to meet your particular interests and abilities. 

A unique feature of our advanced degree is that you will undertake supervised undergraduate research projects. These projects enable you to work closely with active academic researchers to develop your independent learning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 

As an Advanced student, you will be invited to participate in networking and mentoring opportunities including summer research scholarships, corporate scholarships, and access to degrees from the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) and inter-university courses via our Access Grid Room.
