What you'll learn

This flexible degree combines essential knowledge in mathematics with disciplines of your choice, preparing you for exciting and high-impact careers.

Your compulsory courses will expose you to topics like linear algebra, calculus, programming, research in mathematics, probability and statistics and statistical practice. You'll also build important industry connections through our Mathematics Clinic, an internship or a supervised project.

This degree allows you to tailor your studies with major courses and electives in complimentary areas. Major topics range from mathematical modelling, optimisation, fluid dynamics, simulation for decision science and differential equations. You might choose elective courses in survey statistics, Riemannian geometry, spatial statistics or predictive analysis.

As part of the honours component of your degree, you'll complete a research project in contemporary mathematics or statistics under the guidance of an academic supervisor.
