About this qualification
Here is what the Bachelor of Midwifery qualification offered by Flinders University covers and who it is designed for.
Do you want to be a skilled and caring midwife with the expertise to support women and their families during pregnancy, birth and beyond?
This program offers theoretical knowledge, simulated experiences and Midwifery Practice Experience (MPE) that enables students to develop the necessary skills to provide safe and effective woman-centred midwifery care.
Prospective students should be familiar with the inherent requirements of the program and be aware that impairment that may detrimentally impact on your practice will need to be disclosed when applying for registration as a midwife. Additionally, there is a requirement to declare any criminal history.
Deferment for this program is not available.
All applicants will be required to declare how they meet the English Language Proficiency requirement or complete an English language test with an IELTS proficiency of 7.0 overall and in all bands (or equivalent) prior to being made an offer. Applicants are advised to check the English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia website.
The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) has a register of students enrolled in the Bachelor of Midwifery for the duration of their study. WSU as the education provider will provide your details directly to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) for registration while you are a student.
