Taught on-site at the Flinders University Riverland Campus in Renmark, South Australia, prepare to practise in a variety of clinical settings and roles as a registered nurse who is reflective about their practice, has well-developed clinical reasoning skills and a commitment to lifelong learning. This degree is accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC). Graduates can apply to the Australian Heath Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for registration with the NMBA as a Registered Nurse.

The Bachelor of Nursing (Pre-Registration) aims to prepare students to be person-centred and evidence-based health professionals who have well-developed clinical reasoning skills and are reflective about their practice. They will be equipped with skills and knowledge to provide relationship based, ethically responsible care, adhering to safety and quality standards for people across the lifespan and from diverse populations and care contexts locally, nationally Globally.

Graduates of another bachelor degree, or applicants who expect to complete another bachelor degree this year, in a study area other than nursing or those who hold a Nursing qualification but are not eligible to register as a Nurse with AHPRA should consider applying through the SATAC postgraduate application service for the two year Bachelor of Nursing (Graduate Entry) (SATAC code 2BG007).

Practical experience

Flinders Nursing is packed with industry experience and placement opportunities. Our focus is to develop students into Registered Nurses who are reflective about their practice and have well-developed clinical reasoning skills and a commitment to lifelong learning. Students will be required to participate in multiple professional placements ranging from 2 to 8 weeks in length in a full-time block format. Prospective students should carefully check that they meet the Inherent requirements for this degree before applying.
