Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Mount Gambier)

There is a strong focus on working in in culturally responsive ways particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Physiotherapists bring together expertise in a range of body systems and work to assess and manage people with musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory or neurological impairments and conditions to move well, stay well and live full lives.

Since this degree is only available to applicants eligible under the rural and remote subquota who currently reside in a regional area, all other applicants should refer to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (SATAC code: 254121 (Bedford Park) or 285411 (City Campus)).

Practical experience

Students will have the opportunity to participate in several placements and practical experiences throughout the four-year program. From simulation to industry engagement to part time and full-time placement opportunities, students will be integrated into allied health services available in rural and remote areas as well as metropolitan areas.

Your career

This rural allied health degree offers flexible step in/step out options for students to study for one, two, three or four years with a range of job opportunities available at each point. Students who complete the full four-year program will be eligible to work as a physiotherapist. Students who step out after one year will be awarded a higher education diploma, after two years an associate degree and after three years a non-accredited degree. These qualifications could lead to a range of exciting career opportunities in health, disability, aged care or education settings.
