The Bachelor of Psychological Science aims to develop knowledge of the factors influencing human behaviour and experience To provide skills for the application of this knowledge to issues in the real world. It provides comprehensive knowledge of such fields as learning, motivation, personality, emotion, development across the lifespan, social and cultural influences, biological influences, and mental health. Also integral to the degree is the development of critical thinking and research skills, and an understanding of the ethical responsibilities of researchers and psychology clinicians.
The Bachelor of Psychological Science (Online) provides a flexible program of online study, which students will be able to complete remotely. Please note however, there may be some learning activities and assessments that will require students to attend online classes at specified times.
Your career
On completion of this degree, students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of influences on human behaviour, both normal and abnormal. Students will have an understanding of the principles and techniques of psychological research and knowledge of Psychological Assessment and measurement.
This degree prepares graduates for employment in many fields given the broad scope of specialisations. Potential occupations may include youth worker, disability employment consultant, and human resources consultant; potential employers may include community health providers, consulting firms and government agencies.
Graduates are eligible to apply for Honours in psychology or the Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Advanced). In order to become a psychologist, graduates must then complete two years of further study/training, for example, a 2-year Master of Psychology (Clinical), or a 1-year Master of Professional Psychology plus internship.
