Bachelor of Science (Agricultural Science)

The Agricultural Science degree explores modern agricultural science and practices to equip you with skills and knowledge to thrive in careers that are multidisciplinary, fast-paced and exciting. You will study on Western Sydney University’s historic Hawkesbury campus, which has taught generations of agriculture students and now houses technologically advanced facilities to teach the next generation. You will have access to diverse on-campus facilities such as the University Farm and biodiverse bushland at the urban-rural interface, inspiring you to take action towards a regenerative and more environmentally sustainable agricultural future in the face of climate change.

This innovative agricultural program covers developments in biotechnology, integrated management of land, water and sustainable practices with satellite and drone derived data and other decision support software. 

You will have opportunities to learn from world-leading experts in research, industry and the community.  You will then translate theory into real-world practice not only on our unique campus, but also in national and international opportunities. The flexibility of the program also enables you to combine your interest in Agrifood with other disciplines including animal science, data science, ecology, innovative foods, health and business.

With a focus on advanced plant breeding, greenhouse technology, and soil research, the Agrifood degree aims to prepare students for contributing to the agricultural security of Australia's future. The program also provides links with industry and community, giving students access to modern teaching and research facilities and equipping them with critical analytical, problem-solving Practical skills sought by employers. Students also have the opportunity to undertake specialised experiences linked to the program's subjects and collaborate with industry on research projects.
