The Bachelor of Science (Extended) (Health) is a four-year degree for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to undertake their studies in an academically and culturally supported environment.
This degree offers a comprehensive foundation in health and the health care sector. You will critically examine the political, sociocultural, behavioural, economic and environmental factors that affect people's health decisions, and the way we deliver care. Through this course, you will understand the complexity of health at the local, national and global levels. Graduates typically move into health-related fields that do not involve the direct treatment of patients.
You will undertake a program in Health and a major in Health. You will also complete a minor or a second major from those offered in Science or the shared pool of majors from across the University. You will also take short courses from the Open Learning Environment in areas such as design thinking, persuasive communication, project management, team leadership and entrepreneurial thinking. All students complete some units in mathematics.
Throughout the degree you will have access to tailored academic support and tutors, mentors through our Mentoring our Brothers and Sisters (MOBS) program. You will also have access to opportunities including internships, study abroad and projects and placements in Community and industry.
