Charles Sturt University will arrange for students to co-enrol in the Cert IV Veterinary Nursing with GOTAFE, if the Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing has not been previously completed.

You can study your veterinary technology degree online part-time or on campus, either full-time or part-time. Whichever you choose, you'll gain all the veterinary technician skills you need – from ways of handling animals to animal pharmacology and veterinary anaesthesia. So when you graduate you'll be ready to grasp any number of vet tech job opportunities with confidence, whether in urban and regional veterinary surgeries and clinics, diagnostic labs, zoos, horse or cattle studs, feedlots or livestock enterprises.

Our veterinary technology degree combines the Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing from GOTAFE, Victoria with the bachelor's level qualification. If you already have a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, you'll be able to apply for subject credits towards your bachelor's degree.

While studying with Charles Sturt University, you'll have access to various animal care facilities, such as the campus farm, veterinary clinical and pre-clinical centres, small animal referral hospital, diagnostic laboratory, equine centre and simulation clinic. The course has been developed in collaboration with representatives from veterinary practices; the pig, poultry and dairy industries; horse studs Animal welfare organisations and zoos to ensure what you're studying is highly relevant for your future career. Plus, you'll complete clinical placements and rotations.

Note: The online study option for this course is only available part-time. 

Charles Sturt University and Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE (GOTAFE) offer an integrated program leading to B Veterinary Technology. The integrated program is offered over three years full time on campus. In the first year students co-enrol in Charles Sturt University's B Veterinary Technology and GOTAFE's TAFE Cert IV Veterinary Nursing (if required). Students will study a mix of Charles Sturt University and GOTAFE taught subjects throughout the course. Some GOTAFE taught subjects have Intensive  Schools at Wangaratta for online students. The remaining subjects have practicals on the Wagga campus for on campus students, and many have Intensive Schools for online students at the Wagga campus.

This program is also offered as an articulated program for students who have already completed Cert IV Veterinary Nursing. Students apply direct to Charles Sturt University for the articulated program.
