Information technology (IT) is all about learning to develop, build and maintain software technology systems to meet the challenges faced by business and society. You can develop skills around data science to study collecting and analysing data for  connected devices, systems, and networks to bring meaning to complex patterns. Or you could develop software for a variety of electronic devices.

You will receive embedded support from the Pathways and Academic Learning Support Centre, including access to a dedicated Student Liaison Officer, a quiet workspace for independent study and smaller class sizes in your foundational courses. Plus, when you study a Diploma at the University of Newcastle, the supported Pathways courses you complete are FREE.

The Diploma in Information Technology provides you with a level 5 diploma qualification and a degree pathway at the University of Newcastle. Upon completion of the Diploma in Information Technology you will receive guaranteed entry into the Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Data Science and all programs in the Guaranteed Admissions Scheme.
