This course provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to work with young people and families in a number of different community settings. During this course, students cover a number of core skills and strategies needed to support children and families, how to respond to specific situations, work effectively with children and young people Provision of a safe environment.
Combined diploma/degrees: The Diploma of Child, Youth and Family Intervention can be combined with other programs as listed below to attain the awards of Diploma of Child, Youth and Family Intervention from TAFE Queensland and the relevant degree from the university. Students undertake initial study at TAFE Queensland and complete the degree at the relevant university. Duration, location, mode of study, semester intake, electives and specialisations may vary. All mandatory university admission and English language requirements must be met before university enrolment is finalised. For more information contact the relevant university. Note: TAFE Queensland students making transition to the degree may need to wait six months to start with the semester one university intake.
To apply for a combined diploma/degree, applicants must select the Diploma of Child, Youth and Family Intervention for the relevant TAFE Queensland location on their application and nominate their preferred degree/university (one only). Applicants can list the stand alone diploma or the combined program but not both. Listing more than one is not needed because they have the same eligibility and ATAR/rank requirements.
