Diploma of Environmental Health

Environmental health is a sub-discipline of public health that focuses on environmental dimensions of health. There is a growing demand for technicians with practical and theoretical knowledge as well as skills in this area. Graduates may be employed in support roles to the environmental health directorates of state and local government organisations.

The course prepares students to make a positive contribution to the health of communities. Graduates have the ability to think critically about prevention and control of communicable and environmental disease and a range of other environmental health issues. They will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team to plan and coordinate environmental health projects.

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to gain 8 units advanced standing to the Bachelor of Health Sciences degree.
