About this qualification
AMPA's Undergraduate Certificate in Dance is a 13-Week course, which covers the same content as stage A of AMPA's Associate Degree of Dance. It is an intensive and practical training course designed to develop highly skilled, disciplined and versatile dance artists. AMPA boasts a supportive and collaborative atmosphere that inspires creativity and encourages students as they strive to reach technical, artistic and scholarly excellence.
This practical course nurtures talent in an atmosphere that encourages creativity and applauds innovation. The Undergraduate Certificate in Dance at AMPA provides students with the technical ability, creativity and professionalism required to sustain a successful career in the extremely competitive dance industry in Australia and abroad. Students receive an extensive curriculum in composition, as well as undertake complementary studies (dance history and appreciation, body science, music for dancers, dance production, dance and film) and electives (pedagogy, virtual dance and Latin American and ballroom styles).
The Undergraduate Certificate in Dance is a nested award into the Associate Degree of Dance (Performance). Students who successfully complete the 13 weeks of the Undergraduate Certificate in Music are eligible to transfer into the Associate Degree of Music (Performance) and graduate with this award.
