About this qualification

Here is what the Undergraduate Certificate in Ministry Practice qualification offered by Christian Heritage College covers and who it is designed for.

The Undergraduate Certificate in Ministry Practice comprises four (4) core Ministry Practice units graded on a Pass/Fail basis. It is designed to focus on coaching and accountability to provide students with individualised and experiential tools to upskill and be positioned for greater responsibility in ministry fields negotiated with relevant CHC Faculty in the School of Ministries.

It utilises a work integrated learning (WIL) approach to provide a flexible framework to assist students apply knowledge and skills in negotiated Ministry Practice focus areas including, but not limited to, self-leadership, counselling, project management, operations coordination, mentoring, coaching, academic writing and research, preaching and teaching, church planting, worship, multimedia Leadership in general. It is designed to provide practical experience in ministry and teamwork with an experienced supervisor and leadership coach, and appropriate faculty.

The core units for the Undergraduate Certificate in Ministry Practice to be delivered concurrently are:

Students in the Undergraduate Certificate in Ministry Practice must complete all of the core units.

This course provides the student with core ministry skills leading to the development of the student in specific areas of ministry practice within an appropriate framework.?

After successful completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate:?

- technical and theoretical knowledge with some depth in areas within a field of work and/or learning;??

- ability to discuss and analyse contemporary, issues and challenges impacting on Christian ministry, and create effective solutions to these issues and challenges;??

- breadth of ministry skills and ability to communicate to provide appropriate mutual support, and;??

- application of knowledge and skills to new and diverse contexts as well as self-reflection and evaluation of ministry performance for the purpose of vocational development.
