About this qualification

The University Preparation Program (UniPrep) is UNSW's preparatory or pre-university program designed for students who need an alternative pathway program to university and will prepare you for degree-level study. Four discipline streams are available with study plans tailored towards your desired discipline. The program can be taken either fulltime or parttime and can be completed in one year if students are fulltime. Students have a maximum of 3 years to complete the program. Students must pass all courses to complete the program and then this can be used as a qualification for UNSW degrees and degrees at other universities. Different UNSW degree programs have different grade, or WAM, requirements to enter them.

All University Preparation Program streams include a University Orientation and Study Skills course covering academic literacy, professionalism and university transition, designed to provide you with a realistic introduction to university study. All streams allow the opportunity to study faculty courses with first year degree students, giving you a realistic taste of the first year experience. If you perform well in these Faculty courses, you may be eligible to apply for course credit when you start your UNSW degree.

Places in the University Preparation Program are fully Commonwealth supported, which means there are no student tuition fees (other administrative fees such as SSAF will apply).
