About this skill set

This skill set reflects the skill requirements for support workers providing services to clients with co-existing needs, including both alcohol and other drugs and mental health issues. This skill set has been endorsed by industry as suitable for individuals who: • hold a qualification at Certificate IV level or higher in Alcohol and other Drugs, Mental Health or related field or • have skills equivalent to the qualification requirement validated through a recognition of prior learning process or • have substantial industry experience, on the job training and development along with supervisor assessment of capacity. Units CHCAOD007 Develop strategies for alcohol and other drugs relapse prevention and management CHCAOD008 Provide advanced interventions to meet the needs of clients with alcohol and other drugs issues CHCCCS004 Assess co-existing needs CHCMHS005 Provide services to people with co-existing mental health and alcohol and other drugs issues
