As consumers and producers of data, students will learn about data management and security practices, as well as developing an understanding of legal and ethical issues relating to the collection and use of data. Students will develop their analytic capabilities by understanding and interpreting a range of data types including macroeconomic data, which will be used as a base case study where students will examine how macroeconomic conditions affect business decisions across a variety of disciplines including marketing, management, and finance. Students will have the opportunity to personalise their learning experience as they examine case study data sets relating to a range of business disciplines including economics, marketing, human resources and finance. Students will also develop skills to effectively communicate the results of their analysis to an audience and recommend business actions from a considered range of alternatives.
