You will gain experience in coding from a range of medical record formats and specialties in coding practicums hosted by industry experts. You will develop a deeper understanding of the national funding model and the important role that internal and external clinical coding auditing plays in health classification quality assurance. Topic areas include audit quality tools, record selection and delivery of coding education. You will achieve competencies in clinical coding auditing for internal data quality control and coding practice management. Pass grade is 50%. Assessment hurdle that students must pass the final online exam with a grade of 50% or more. Placements are expected to be face-to-face unless a suitable location cannot be found and then they may be online.
