Drawing on key theories from criminology, sociology, psychology, behavioural economics, and public health the individual, community, police, politicians, media, and policymakers’ roles in crime prevention will be explored and critiqued. Specifically, through innovative real-world practical applications of situational crime prevention, developmental crime prevention, individual crime prevention, community crime prevention, and economic disruption, the importance of implementing evidenced-based crime prevention policies will be understood. By reviewing the process of having to carefully design, plan, implement, and evaluate crime prevention strategies, the ethical considerations, and the practical challenges of needing to collaborate with partners from community and government to prevent crime are examined.
