About this subject

This subject was previously known as Environmental and Technological Systems in Architecture. This subject explores the complexities of effective system integration within the built environment. Acoustic, lighting, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems are given particular focus and these are investigated through researching and analysing case studies, and observations of construction and detailing in a local context. Students will begin to interrogate the role of a designer as part of a network of professional consultants. Net zero considerations form part of this unit. Work integrated learning is incorporated through understanding the role of consultants.
