About this subject
This subject employs 'Extensive Reading' methodology. You will read large volumes of Japanese text matched to your individual proficiency level in order to acquire and consolidate level-appropriate vocabulary and grammatical structures. Socio-cultural knowledge and awareness are also enhanced via the thematic content of the texts. The readings/stories provided include both fiction and non-fiction and most have accompanying audio and illustrations. You will answer comprehension questions and provide written reflective comments (in Japanese) on the completion of each reading/story. This subject is an elective that aims to bolster your reading skills and support your progress in the core Japanese language units.
