This subject is for students who have completed HSC-level Japanese (or have equivalent proficiency). The subject aims to develop your early intermediate-level communicative competence in Japanese. You will enhance your early intermediate listening and speaking skills in Japanese and your early intermediate skills in reading and writing Japanese. You will consolidate your knowledge of approximately 150-200 previously studied elementary kanji, and learn an additional 130 new kanji (approximately). In this subject you will gain an awareness of some aspects of Japanese society and culture relevant to intercultural communication at early intermediate level and you will create language learning strategies that you can employ as you progress.
