The aim of this course is to introduce you socio-legal approaches to understanding law and its regulation of and response to social problems. In this course you will examines how the law regulates and responds to some of the most complex problems in contemporary society. It offers an overview of how law is made and changed in response to social problems across time and place. The course positions current issues that present challenging legal, moral, and ethical questions within their historical context to examine the role of law in society and the connections between law, politics, and socio-economic variables.
