About this qualification
This combined degree enables you to follow your interests and aspirations whilst enhancing your career prospects by concurrently undertaking two different but complementary areas of study. You will complete qualifications in both Psychological Science and Sport and Active Recreation with a combined study plan to reduce the overall duration of the degree. Pairing Psychological Science with Sport and Active Recreation lets you explore the mental side of sport, performance Wellbeing and prepares you for roles in coaching, sport development, health promotion, and athlete support, where psychology and physical activity go hand in hand.
Bachelor of Psychological Science

This course equips you with critical thinking, research, communication, and cultural competence empowering you to design evidence-based solutions, advocate for mental wellbeing Build a meaningful, adaptable career in diverse professional settings.
On completion of this degree students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of influences on human behaviour, both normal and abnormal. Students will have an understanding of the principles and techniques of psychological research and knowledge of psychological assessment and measurement. Potential occupations may include youth worker, disability employment consultant, and human resources consultant; potential employers may include community health providers, consulting firms and government agencies.
This course is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. Graduates are eligible to apply for Honours in psychology or the Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Advanced). In order to become a psychologist, graduates must then complete two years of further study/training, for example, a 2-year Master of Psychology, or a 1-year Master of Professional Psychology plus internship.

The degree aims to provide students with a broad knowledge of the sports and active recreation industry, including sports development, sports coaching, physical activity Health and wellbeing, alongside opportunities to major in outdoor education, sport coaching and development or sports business. It will prepare students to become effective professionals and advocates for sport and active recreation leading to social impact.
