Social and Psychological Science / Criminology and Criminal Justice

In the higher education diploma year, students develop fundamental academic skills, cementing their knowledge in foundation subjects and core concepts. Students gain a thorough grounding in psychological science, including human behaviour, cognition, development and mental processes, while developing skills in critical analysis, communication and research. On successful completion, students progress into the Griffith University's Bachelor of Psychological Science/Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice with credit. During university study, students develop an understanding of the psychological factors associated with crime and criminal behaviour, while exploring crime trends, crime prevention, justice systems and responses to offending. Graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills for careers across a range of justice, community and human services settings.
